Pictures from Sandboarding in Namibia

These pics were just emailed to me from wherever the girls were sandboarding.  Looks like they were having a blast!

After several days of classes and midterms, the group set out for the dunes surrounding Swakopmund for a day of fun and sun. We spent the morning sandboarding or in other words laying belly down on a 2ft by 4ft waxed piece of wood and flying head first down the dune. We started out small, but each run became longer and bumpier. Soon some of us we’re reaching speeds up to 44 miles per hour. After each run we picked up our board, tried to get the sand out of our clothes, and hiked back up to the top of the dune for another run. A professional camera crew heavily documented the morning and produced a video of the day that we cannot wait to share with all of you when we return! It was a great way to decompress after a busy week of academics!
